Job Description:
The Department of Performing and Visual Arts at the American University in Cairo is searching to fill a new full-time tenure-track position of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Art Program to begin fall 2010. The successful applicant will be required to teach 6 courses per academic year (3 courses per semester) in practical/technical and conceptual undergraduate courses in Graphic Design, Digital Media, and Inter-Media. The position also carries administrative responsibilities at the department, school, and university levels.

Requirements:
Ph.D., MFA or equivalent terminal degree in Digital Media or closely related discipline is required. Applicants must be articulate in graphic design/digital media history, theory and practice, and be proficient with industry standard technologies. Experience with cross-disciplinary collaboration and curriculum development is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience at university/college level.
