Job Description:
The Department of Arab and Islamic civilizations is searching for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Classical Arabic Literature where applicant is expected to teach courses in all genres of Arabic poetry and prose from the pre-Islamic through the modern periods. Courses will be conducted in both Arabic and English. The candidate is expected to have relevant teaching experience at the university level. Successful candidates will teach three courses per semester at the undergraduate, graduate and Core Curriculum levels.

Requirements:
Ph.D. by September 1, 2010, is required.

Tenure track position.
